Joyful Education

We believe that the earliest years of education should feel joyful, engaging and full of discovery!

At Park Slope Little Learners:

Play is central to learning. Through open-ended play, children practice problem-solving, develop social-emotional skills, strengthen motor abilities, and deepen language and communication.

Curiosity drives the curriculum. We encourage children to investigate, ask questions, and take safe risks as they explore the world around them.

Academic foundations are built intentionally. Alongside play, teachers incorporate direct instruction, modeling, and rich read-alouds to introduce early skills such as counting, letter and number recognition, and thematic studies like seasons, families, and community helpers.

Instruction is individualized. Using differentiated teaching, we offer “just right” challenges that meet each child where they are and support confident growth.

Emotional development is a priority. We emphasize emotional vocabulary, empathy, cooperation, and independence so children feel capable, valued, and excited to learn each day.
